Aim: To create a fully operating and compliant recycling facility in Sheffield city centre.
Description: This ongoing project in partnership with the city of Sheffield is another success story for OCL Regeneration. Under a long-term supply agreement, we provide recycling facility management and waste recycling services, operating a bespoke four-acre recycling centre in the city. Recycled waste from the centre is then used to reconstruct and maintain the city’s road network.
In line with our ‘grave to cradle’ process, we provide all the plant and personnel to crush and screen 300,000 tonnes of waste a year, with around one third being re-used as FoambaseTM in Sheffield’s road and footpath construction. The remainder is made into a range of recycled aggregates with zero being sent to landfill.
